SuppScore · Prepared by Whirlwind
There is a page for every ingredient form. This page says which ones to show to Google, which to hide, which to redirect, and why. The rules behind it were signed off on 11 September 2026.
1 · The rule on one page
Take each form and go down the steps. Stop at the first step that fits. The number beside each step is how many forms stop there.
A form has evidence when SuppScore's database passes at least 2 of 3 checks: its own written reason for the grade, at least one reference, and its own list of benefits. "Searches" means monthly Google searches in the UK.
Is it just another name for something we already have?
Yes No page. Redirect it to the real one.
A spelling mistake, the same substance under another name, or a brand name without its own references and written reason.
Example: Ferrus Fumerate redirects to Ferrous Fumarate. Magnesium Bisglycinate redirects to Magnesium Glycinate.
Is it the main form of its ingredient?
Yes No separate page. The ingredient page covers it, and is built to rank for it.
The ingredient gets searched at least twice as much as the form, and the form is clearly the leader among the ingredient's forms.
Example: Creatine Monohydrate is covered by the Creatine page.
Is it searched as much as its ingredient, or more, and does it have evidence?
Yes Both the form and the ingredient get their own visible page.
Nothing is merged. The form page sits under the ingredient.
Example: Magnesium Glycinate (201,000 searches) against Magnesium (110,000).
Does it have evidence, and 100 or more searches?
Yes Its own visible page.
Example: Magnesium Oxide (9,900 searches).
Does it have evidence, but under 100 searches?
Yes Its own hidden page.
People can reach it from a product page. Google is told not to show it.
Example: Magnesium Pyruvate (10 searches).
Does it have 1,000 or more searches, but weak evidence?
Yes A hidden page for now. It becomes visible once SuppScore approves our research.
Example: Magnesium Citrate (33,100 searches, but no references).
Does it have 100 to 999 searches, but weak evidence?
Yes A row on the ingredient page for now. It gets its own visible page once SuppScore approves our research.
Example: Magnesium Lactate (320 searches).
Anything else
Then No page and no research. A row on the ingredient page.
Every form with under 100 searches and weak evidence.
Example: Magnesium (Seawater), 30 searches.
Plain words on the left, the developer setting on the right.

2 · Magnesium
Every magnesium form page on the staging site, with its step and the reason. Of the 28: 12 stay visible, 6 become hidden, 6 redirect to another page, and 4 become rows on the Magnesium page.

4 · Fixes needed whatever the verdict
We checked the 28 magnesium pages on 7 September. These need fixing whichever step a page lands on, and they will likely affect every other ingredient too.
In the page code Google reads first, all 28 pages are titled "SuppScore" and share one description. The right title only appears later, in the structured data. None of the pages has a canonical tag, which is the line that tells Google which address is the main one.
Magnesium oxide and magnesium carbonate show -0.1. The scale only uses 1.5, 1.25, 1.0 and 0.85, so a wrong value is reaching the page.
27 of 55 reference links are labelled wrongly. 12 show the name of a different paper, 9 show "Checking your browser", and 6 show only a website name.
Ten pages all say "Rank among Magnesium: 3 of 28". They are tied, but each badge reads as if that form alone is third.
magnesium-l-lycinate has the comparison, questions and references, but none of the six written sections the other pages have.
The blueprint uses /ingredients/magnesium/magnesium-glycinate. Staging uses /ingredient/magnesium/.... Changing it before launch is close to free. Changing it later means redirects for every page.
5 · Waiting on SuppScore
These are the forms on Steps 6 and 7: people search for them, but the database does not yet hold enough evidence. For each one we will find references about that specific form, draft its own written reason and benefit list, and label all of it as AI research for the SuppScore team to review. Once SuppScore approves a form, it goes through the steps again and most will become a visible page.
Not all of them need research. 48 are additives or fillers, which get the additive page instead. 19 are the same substance as another row, so that substance is researched once. That leaves 177 forms to research.
We start with a test on 8 forms of different kinds, so the quality can be judged: Hericium erinaceus (Lion's Mane), Saffron, Magnesium citrate, L-Methylfolate, Ferrous Bisglycinate, Ubiquinol, Magnesium Lactate and L. rhamnosus GR-1®. Then three runs of about 56 forms each, biggest searches first. The list is in research-queue.csv.
